Thanksgiving in the United States

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is one America's largest and most popular parades.  It started in 1924 and is the second oldest parade in the U.S.  It is a three-hour parade from 9:00 in the morning until 12:00.  The parade is one of America's favorite traditions.

Visiting El Torcal - Antequera

On Friday, April 9th, Alessandra and I visited El Torcal with 4th year and Bachillerato students and the Science teachers.

El Torcal is an protected Natural Area of karst (limestone) landscapes. The rock formations are the result of rain, snow and wind erosion over many, many years...the rock is 150 million years old and used to be under the sea!

Alessandra and I enjoyed the excellent view in the direction of the city of Malaga and the Atlantic Ocean! (It was windy!)
These rocks reminded me of pancakes.
Fossil of a snail! It's size is compared to chapstick.
On the way back to Lora del Rio, we stopped in Fuente de Piedra to see the salt lagoon and its many flamingoes.
I got a little muddy trying to get closer to the flamingoes!

If you've never been to El Torcal, I recommend it. It was a beautiful hike, and Alessandra and I had a lot of fun!
